The Coastal Bend Advocacy Development class to begin in January 2018!

The Coastal Bend Advocacy Development class  has a goal of increasing both systemic and personal advocacy efforts by people with disabilities through education and peer to peer engagement. Engagement in activity is an important element of community integration and we believe hearing from peers on this issue is invaluable.  CBAD graduates interact with mentors and peers over the course of five sessions.  CBAD graduates are engaged on a number of Boards and Commissions in the region contributing to our collective philosophy “nothing about us, without us” to ensure interests of people with disabilities are accurately represented.  CBAD sessions will begin January 2018, attached you will find a flyer describing the sessions as well as an application for interested parties.  CBAD is a great place to hone skill sets for individuals who have a goal of being more effective advocates in their communities.
