Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program
TBRA provides short-term rental housing vouchers to individuals with disabilities waiting to access permanent subsidized housing. Under the HOME Program with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, TBRA is often the only “bridge” for individuals wanting to leave nursing facilities and/or to continue to live in the community in housing that is affordable, accessible and integrated. Individual household eligibility is based on income guidelines. Those who are interested in receiving this assistance are placed on the CBCIL TBRA interest list. Priority to receive CBCIL TBRA voucher assistance is for individuals wishing to relocate from institutions.
